All about VLC and DCP
Well I have finished with the creating of Open Source DCP that is Digital Camera Package. After doing the same I have found that there is no open source player is available to view the files. I am wondering the VLC media player which I have installed on the computer of mine. let me know if you are having any idea regarding the viewing of the DCP file on the VLC. I am waiting for the prompt replies of mine. Thanks a lot in advance.

It sounds great and I am thinking that the Digital Cinema Package is becoming a medium for the individual filmmakers. I am hoping that there would be more and more DCP festivals all around the world apart from the 35mm reels. I have already tried with this particular thing but it did not working at all. The videos after customizations seems to be jitter and also did not having support for the SMPTE timecode with the frames.

Well I have noticed that the VLC 1.1.1 is having support for DxVA. Also one can implement the SMPTE timecodes on the player and I have found that it seems to be really easy to implement. After searching on the Google upcoming version of the VLC would have support for the BluRay. If all the above mentioned thing is implemented then I am sure that it would be the great thing to have on the player

Personally I would like to have VLC as tool for the Home criteria playback or it should be developed as a flexible tool so that one can play all kinds of the videos on it and audio file without having any issue. As far as SMPTE is concerned it is command and timecode which display function which is having support for the seconds and not having support for the frames. If VLC would be able to display the SMPTE timecode then it would become the professional video review.

If you are looking to create your own DCP then you must be familiar of the basic Unix Command. Also you should have quite large empty hard disk. Also you should have cleanly installed operating system on the computer. Old operating system with number of application then it will not be helpful to you at all. Finally you need to see that you have installed Xcode and free utility which is called ONYX. So you should gather all the above mentioned stuff to get the requirement of yours.

I want to discuss something which would be useful to create the DCP. Well the DCP is totally based on the ISO standards hence the rules for the same is quite strict regarding the formation of the movie. So you need to have lots of time so that you can get that standards. One another thing I would like to discuss over here is that you should use the Soundtrack Pro which is coming with FCP and it will make the thing very simple to create 5.1 stereo element.
