I am suggesting the following stuff which you can use to fix the requirement of yours.

* You need to go to the about:config.
* Now you should enter plugin on the filter box.
* You need to see for the plugin.disablefull_page_plugin_fortypes
* In case it is already existing then it will contains values and simp0ly add the audio/mpeg at the end or simply change the audio/mpeg.
* Now you should close the Firefox on the computer and launch the same and click on the MP3 link.

I am sure that it will work for you.

Well looking at the situation which you have provided over here I am suggesting the following thing which you can use to fix the problem of yours.

1. You have to launch the Firefox on the computer and then Click on the Tools and go for Options and Click on the Applications.
2. Now Click on the Content Type and simply scroll down to the MPEG.
3. Now you have to select the Use Window Media Player under the Action and Click on the Ok button.

I let you know something which would be helpful to understand the situation properly. Well the plugins of the QuickTime will let you to view various kind of the multimedia content on the web pages. I am suggesting that you should Click on the Options from the Firefox menu bar and go for Application. So try the above mentioned thing and see whether it is working or not. Wish you all the best.

I have found that the config line was not existing on the computer of mine. However I have right clicked on the main about:config window and simply created the new string value with the set to the ‘audio/mpeg’ without using quotes and after doing the same I have closed the browser and restarted the same. After doing the same I was able to meet the requirement of mine. So you should try the above mentioned thing it will help you out.
