"The requested operation requires elevation" error while opening OpenOffice documents
Hello when I try to open Openoffice documents from library I get the error message saying that:” The requested operation requires elevation” and I am not able to access my files to work on Open Office. I have started facing this issue after updating to Openoffice 3.3. Can anyone suggest me how to solve this issue and so that I can solve mine issue. Thanks in advance..

Hello I have got the same issue with the Windows 7 Home Premium on my older Thinkpad Laptop. I have installed the OpenOffice on my desktop with VISTA 32 bit and I have solved mine issue by running this program on administrator mode. So I would like to suggest you to run this program on the administrator mode and after that go through your issue.

This means you have doesn’t have enough of access to your files and so therefore you’re getting this issue. Even if you have logged into administrator mode then you might face this issue. So to solve this issue make right click on the Openoffice application and after that select the run as administrator. Now once you done and after that try to opening Open Office documents and then let me know the issue.

Even I have gone through this same issue and I have tried the below steps to solve this issue. I simply click on Libraries, Documents, and Correspondence and then choose a file and each time I am blocked by the 'Error' message. I hope this will help you to solve your issue.

If above all solution not working to solve this issue and then I would like to suggest you to make disable the User Account Control [UAC] and after that go through your issue. To do this you need to go through the below steps: first make click on the start and then click on the control panel. Now on the control panel go to the user account and after that make uncheck mark on User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer check box and after that save the setting and then go through your issue.
