unable to run Itunes setup file
Hi ,I have a Sony vaio laptop with windows 7 operating system installed. It is only few weeks old. I am having problem while installing softwares. I am unable to install itunes in it. Whenever I try to run the itunes setup file a message is displayed "choose the program you want it to open with" . My laptop is new and there is no chance of any malicious program affecting it. Can anyone please help me to solve the problem.

Your Sony vaio laptop is having windows 7 operating system and you must be trying to install 64 bit itunes software. As per my opinion if the 64 bit is not installing then try to download 32 bit itunes software and then try to run the setup file. I can understand that you are having 64 bit windows but try with 32 bit itunes.it might solve your problem. As your laptop is new there should not be any virus issue.

You tried to install 64 bit itunes software but the installation failed. now try installing this way. First remove all the components of itunes from add or remove program option this option you can find in the control panel. Now again double click the iTunes setup file and see if the installation encounter any problem. If the problem occurs, download 32 bit itunes software and then try to install it. I am sure it will work.

Remove all the components of Apple itunes software from add or remove program and then download the fresh copy of itunes software. Though the previous installation failed, the action might have copied some of the itunes file to the hard drive. after downloading the new iTunesSetup.exe file, right click on the file and choose “run as Administrator” and then try to install.i wish this would solve your installation problem.

The installation error message that appears during installation might be due to some corrupt installation file. Be sure that you downloaded the file using download manager. First save the downloading file in the hard drive and then run the setup file.don't try to open the file directly. If you still face any problem then reinstall Windows Installer. It might have corrupted.
