Windows 7 Media Center help
I am having a little problems getting my movie avi files to show up in the movie library. All my movies are in WHS on my network. When i added the file it found all the VTS file that were there, but it did not load the avi files. It loaded 24 VTS file and no avi file. It loads it find in the video library the avi files. How can I get them to show all my avi movies in the movie library?

thanks

Re: Windows 7 Media Center help
Following are the File type (format) supported by Windows Media Player
Music CD Playback (CD audio) .cda
Audio Interchange File Format (AIFF) .aif, .aifc, and .aiff
Windows Media audio and video files .asf, .asx, .wax, .wm, .wma, .wmd, .wmp, .wmv, .wmx, .wpl, and .wvx
Windows audio and video files .avi and .wav
Windows Media Player skins .wmz
Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG) .mpeg, .mpg, .m1v, .mp2, .mpa, .mpe, .mp2v*, and .mpv2
Musical Instrument Digital Interface (MIDI) .mid, .midi, and .rmi
AU (UNIX) .au and .snd
MP3 .mp3 and .m3u
DVD video .vob
Macromedia Flash .swf

As you can see .avi format is not supported by Windows Media Player. So you probably will be needing to run the .avi format files in some other player. You can use AVI player or DivX Player. Search for the same on Internet and download the setup. Install the setup in your system and play the .avi files in those players.
