Everything working fine on OpenOffice but while importing office document I am facing issue, Last night when I imported office document to OpenOffice I have found mine most of the document contains is now identified as "New Times Rom**" and I am not getting proper name of font. Last two three words look rectangular boxes but when I change the font from option then I can see proper see font like “New Times Roman”. Doesn’t anyone why my font are messing while importing office document. Thanks in advance…

Re: Word document Font messed after upgrading to OpenOffice 3.3
Hello I am facing different issue after upgrading to 3.3. I was able to view proper font and everything in Openoffice 3.1 but after upgrading to Openoffice 3.3 I have issue with the spacing on bullet points and along with this rewriting of the java settings xml file. I have found while I run multiple processes (conversions) at same time with same userid. Looking at your issue I don’t think you have issue because alternatively you’re able to see proper font.

First of font appears to have different versions so therefore if you have multiple computers where you installed the Times New Roman font on both system but when you try to import office document the open office will not recognize properly although you have same font. I think you have font being version 1.1.0.245 and the other font being version 1.1.0.345 and so therefore you’re getting this issue.

Re: Word document Font messed after upgrading to OpenOffice 3.3
Hello I have not worked with Openoffice but I have worked same program like InDesign and Quark Xpress, while using this program I seem to getting same error like The Font HelveticaBT does not exist on your system whle importing any files and to solve this issue I has to replace "HelveticaBT" manually. So I think you should install the same version of font on your system and the you will not see any type of font messing. So I think you should manually replace the font file on your Openoffice location.

Re: Word document Font messed after upgrading to OpenOffice 3.3
Hello thanks for the replies and I have tried to replace font from below location:
Quote:
/opt/openoffice.org/basic3.3/share/fonts/truetype with the ones from
/opt/openoffice.org/basic3.1/share/fonts/truetype (all of the .ttf files).
Here I have replaced the font but after that there are no changes and I have tried other solution to solve this issue but nothing helped me to solve mine issue.

Hello first of all the Openoffice will get system installed fonts but on location I am not find any system installed font and also proper location. I think there might be something wrong with your updated or your updated not installed the latest font on your program. So I would like to suggest you to try to reupdated the openoffice and then go through your issue.
