How to remove black horizontal line in openoffice
I have created in the Word document is a thick black line, as I've pushed a lot of underscores in a row and made "enter". So I wanted to make me two similar pieces of text marked and separated from each other visually. This I have now brought together and wanted to rid the line again. Unfortunately it is not happening. I cannot even mark the line. If I take the cursor over them, two lines appear with high-and down-arrow, as if I could move them up or down. But that does not work. How does the line away again?

To delete the line, follow these steps:
• Click at the beginning of the line.
• Choose Borders and Shading from the Format menu, then the card edges.
• In Settings, click none, and then click OK.

The solution which you have provided works only if the line is made once and nothing is done after that and if we have created a line and started with something else then we cannot delete the line. So this is a solution for the line to remove when it is made and not if it was made before and now if you want to delete it.

Re: How to remove black horizontal line in openoffice
It is probably a paragraph that has a top border to get (or, alternatively, below). If the paragraph is deleted in its divine wisdom Word pushes the line :-( automatically to the preceding paragraph.
Solution:
Go with the Cursor on the corresponding line, then the Format menu, borders and shading. The preview should now be seeing the ominous line. Either click on the "off" or on the line in the preview -> away it is.
