"The application cannot be started" error message on Openoffice in windows Vista
Hello recently I have purchased the new Toshiba Satellite A135-S4447 laptop and I have installed the windows vista operating system. Everything working properly without any issue but recently when I tried to install Openoffice I have got the below error message saying that: "The application cannot be started. An internal error occurred. Do you want to start the setup application to repair your installation?" and I have tried re run the installer and I have also repaired but nothing helped me to solve mine issue. Now I don’t what to do and how to solve this issue. Can anyone suggest on this issue and so that I can solve mine issue.

Hello I have got the same issue with windows XP as well and I have gone through the lots of solution to solve this issue but nothing have been helped me to solve mine issue. I have contacted with Openoffice support and they have suggest me to run installation as administrator. I have software on administrator mode and after that I have solved mine issue. So I would like to suggest you to run installation on administrator mode and after that let me know the issue.

Helo I am using the windows XP operating system and I have recently download the Openoffice from official website but i get this issue after installing openoffice at the eed. I have tried to install this on administrator mode but I have got the same issue. I have also tried to redownload and install but getting same message. Can anyone help on this issue and so that I can solve mine issue.

Even I have got the same issue and I have tried to reinstall but I have got the same issue. Finally I have solved mine issue through below steps: first I have uninstalled the Openoffice through Windows Installer CleanUp Utility and after that removed the all files and folder related to Openoffice. Once I have completed this I have reboot the system and then turn off the all Firewall and Virus protection and then downloaded and installed the latest version on mine system.

Hello thanks for the all replies and I have tried several times to uninstalled and reinstalled but nothing helped me to solve mine issue. I have also tried to registry cleaning process but nothing helped me to solve mine issue. Now I don’t how to solve this issue and work with Openoffice. Please any suggest me to solve this issue.

First of all make sure your using US-EN setup in Administrative and after that let me know the issue. If this not working to solve the issue, as you said your getting this issue after installing the openoffice, so I would like to suggest you close the all open windows and then go to the below location: C:\Program Files\Openoffice\ now here make double click on the OpenOffice.org 2.2 and after that make sure your getting any error message or not. I would also suggest you to execute the scalc.exe file from below location: C:\Program Files\OpenOffice.org 2.2\program\scalc.exe.
