Depending on the version of Windows you are using, there are several updates that must be properly installed to disable the autorun feature: To disable the autorun feature in Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008, you must have installed the security update 950582 (Security Bulletin MS08-038). To disable the autorun feature in Windows XP, Windows Server 2003 or Windows 2000 you must have security update 950582, or 953252 update 967715 installed.
