Mail merge outlook 2010 is not working with Windows 7 64bit
Hello friends, I am using Windows 7 ultimate 64-bit on which I have installed office 2010, I am trying to do mail merge to email in HTML format. I have tried the same when I was using office 2007 without any error on Windows Vista and XP, but in Windows 7 it is not working and not doing anything. However I can get it to work with the document as an attachment but not as an email. Can anyone assist me with this matter, now what can I do to come out of this, please reply to my post and thank a lot in advance!

Hello, I have gone through to your problem, actually the office 2011 is newer in market and drivers are unable to get so early. However I have one solution for you, hopefully which will be helpful to you. You can apply hotfix407162_intl_x64 and reboot the PC. After reboot you can check then you have got success with IE or not. If it is not working then you can check for the update with appropriate driver, so just try to apply above steps and do the best for you, if you find it quite working for you then reply to this post, All the Best!

Hey dude, I checked it for you and I can say that if above step is not working for you then I have an alternative solution for you. When you are using Windows 7 and Office 2010, you try to download and install hotfixKB980861, after installing reboot your PC and then repair program which is available on the Office installation, after that again reboot your PC. After reboot again check that word is working and performing with mail merge or not, I think this will surely work for you. Just do as I said and fix your error. All the Best!

Hey I have gone through to above all post and I also have something to say. However I am quite agreed with above posts but I have some doubt that it will work or not. According to me and my search I have seen that some people have reported that executing a merge to email in plain text format which automatically unblocks the HTML method, in any event, when you have no control over that how your recipient will view their email, there is no point in using HTML as per my prospective. Thanks a lot to put such question on this forum.

Re: Mail merge outlook 2010 is not working with Windows 7 64bit
Hello, I am feeling very bad to tell you all that above mentioned methods are not working, when I tried to use text only format, it also got failed. When I did this, it gave me prompt which was asking mail merge to access outlook, when I tried to send plain text, it did nothing and it closed both word and outlook. It stayed tilt and never returned any prompt. I thought that it occurred due to 64-bit but there is the same problem in 32bit. After that I again did downgrade to office 2007. So that was my experience with mail merge, conclusion: not successful in Office 2010.

Re: Mail merge outlook 2010 is not working with Windows 7 64bit
Hello friends, thanks a lot for the replies, I just wanted to say that I have tried with all above solution. I had downloaded above mentioned hotfix serials, but any of the above is not working, even I tried with fresh installation of Windows 7 with 32-bit but as one of my friend has mentioned, he was right it is not working. Frankly speaking I am missing XP a lot. I think Office 2010 is not yet ready with the entire feature that’s why I have also downgrade to office 2007. Thanks a lot again to make a one step for solving my problem.
