Nokia C3: MDI using Office 2010

MDI using Office 2010
Hi,

I need to create .mdi files. I used to be able to do this when I had Office 2003. Now I have upgraded to Office 2010 and no such feature is available. At least I haven't been able to figure it out.

Suggestions??

I have little confusion, you want to create MDI files or you are unable to open MDI files in Office 2010? If it is about opening than you can still have MDI in your system manually installing MS Office Tools right from your office 2007 or office 2003 installation disc. One of my friend sis the same and it worked for him, hope it works for you as well. If you want to create the mdi files then you will have to launch the Microsoft Document Imaging program on your computer. After that you just have to choose scanning option that is available for you and then place and image or picture into the scanner and click on the button "Preview". This will create a quick image of the scan and then click the scan button and the picture will be scanned into your pc. After the scanning is over then a new window will open up asking you to title the doc and location to save it. Just type and rename whatever you want the doc to be and From the pull down menu select "MDI" and click save, this way the MDI file will be created.

I don't think Office 2010 comes with the Microsoft Document Imaging - or maybe I have to install it separate?

Also, are you saying I must print my document, then scan it and save it as a MDI to make this work?

I already have the documents as a PDF and I want to covert it into the MDI. In 2003 I 'printed' to the Microsoft Document Writer and then simply saved it as a MDI file.

Did you tried this in MS office 2010. If you have tried then what was the result for same. MDI file can be created with Microsoft Office Document Imaging software which is already included in Office 2010 Suit. If you are missing this feature then you might be not having the Standard application installed in same.

Ehum. Microsoft removed this feature in Office 2010. See this article. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/982760. So since I upgraded my version of Office I no longer have this feature.

So, I can't use Microsoft Office Document Imaging to create my MDI.

Does anyone have another solution to this problem?

Do I need to install Office 2003 again on my computer?

What you can do is, use the Office 2007 Microsoft Office Document Imaging in Office 2010. Then you just have to run the 2007 install disk and in custom go ahead and disable everything exept the MODI components in Tools then install, you can then use MODI again. MODI is included in Office 2007, but it is not installed by default. You can add it by going to Control panel, then Programs and Features (Add/Remove programs on XP). Select Office 2007 and click change. Then click add or remove features. MODI is under the Office Tools section.
